Xterra all the way! I'm a South Carolina girl, off roading and mudding are hobbies of mine, and Xterras hold up insanely great, they are not problematic in the slightest, usually people trade in for a new one around 130k miles though. For $14,000, you should be able to get a fairly low milage one, I'm looking at getting a newer one around me for $13.5 with 60k miles. Xterras are so great though!!
